Zack Lafleur has been the Economic Development Officer for Nipissing First Nation for the past two and a half years, leveraging his deep commitment to the community to drive growth and support local entrepreneurs. He earned his honors bachelor of business administration from the University of Guelph and is currently advancing his expertise through the Technician Aboriginal Economic Developer (TAED) program, sponsored by OFNEDA. Before his current role, Zack served as Executive Director at the West Nipissing Chamber of Commerce, where he built crucial relationships with funding organizations and politicians. In his role with Nipissing First Nation, Zack assists with business plans and funding applications, organizes workshops on various business topics, and leads community projects like Beaucage Park revitalization and EV charging station installations. He’s also shaping legal frameworks and working on an on-demand transit project to enhance connectivity. Outside of work, Zack enjoys outdoor activities and volunteers as a firekeeper for the annual powwow.
