Mishoomis Dolson graduated from H.B. Beal Technical and Commercial High School in May 1959 with a Grade 12 diploma. He began his career as an apprentice mechanic, working in this capacity for three years before advancing to an automotive mechanic role for another three years. He then worked as a production welder in Detroit, Michigan for four years. Following that, Mishoomis served as the Office Manager for the Munsee Delaware Nation for five years before being elected Chief, a position he held for 14 years. During his leadership, he oversaw the construction of over $8 million worth of infrastructure, including a retail mall, soap factory, daycare building, administration building, and a bingo hall that has been in operation for more than 27 years. He also ran a firewood business intermittently for a decade and provided leadership for the Anishinabek Nation on the ONFLP for 18 years. Mishoomis has been a member of the Leadership Council since 1989 and has served on Elders Councils since 2014.
