Farrah has more than 15 years of working within the environmental and community engagement sectors. With extensive experience working in government and five years of experience working in non-profit and corporate settings, Farrah’s strengths include delivering on complex projects with tight timelines; partnership-building; communication; policy analysis; facilitation of multi-stakeholder groups; and Indigenous consultation.
Farrah has worked with international partners through various positions and has developed an understanding of the socio-economic considerations that inform environmental solutions in North America, Latin America and Asia. Some of her notable experience includes developing and undertaking Indigenous consultation work on transmission projects in northern Ontario; leading the Indigenous and public engagement work to support a large Ontarian-based petrochemical company; leading the work on a provincial strategy for drinking water in First Nation communities; collaborating with a team that administered Ontario’s cap and trade program, estimated at $2 billion annually; facilitating, monitoring and supporting the work of international organizations undertaking agricultural, micro-credit and environmental projects; and collaborating towards the development of a local forestry governance structure and a regional strategic plan strategy on sustainable development in Bolivia. In her free time, she can be found running and cycling around Ontario, taking spontaneous trips around the world, or at her favourite yoga studio in Toronto.
